American Powerclean

Our house and deck had not been power washed for several years, so we decided to contact several local power washers. First we go two estimates from companies advertising in the local mailers. We were not very happy with either of the estimates. The first company quoted us about $1500 for the washing, and staining/sealing the deck. But they said they could only stain part of the deck due to the layout of it. The second company also quoted about $2000 for power washing plus painting the deck. We researched one of the companies online and found a few complaints that once they got paid they would not come back to finish the job.

Not happy with the initial 2 estimates, we decided to look in Angie’s List for a recommended company. We contacted American Powerclean, based on a lot of positive reviews. Mike came out and gave us a variety of options. They offered to just do the power wash of the house and deck, and sealing of the deck, for $750. They told us that this may remove some of the paint from the deck, but it would be cheaper and the deck would still be protected. This was the only company who offered us this more economical option and was honest about the results we could expect. We told them we would think about it. We decided to wait a few months, so we could clear out some brush around the deck.

When I phoned Mike a few months later, he answered the phone, pulled over to talk to me, and remembered the conversation he had with us months earlier. They scheduled us right away the following week. The power washer (Jose) arrived on time and spent 5 hours washing the house and deck without taking a break. He removed the screens from our gazebo and replaced them. He also applied bleach in the gazebo to get it more clean. He came back 2 days later to apply the stain. We were not charged until the job was done, and they simply left an invoice with 30 days for us to pay. Attached are some before and after pictures.

We were pleased with the washing and sealing. Overall, we would recommend American Powerclean based on our experience.
